Dr. Valerie Chen grew up in Hong Kong and is fluent in Cantonese. She graduated from UC Davis in 1993 and has been part of Oak Animal Hospital since 2013. She has developed a special interest in caring for exotic pets over the years and in 2017 she became a Certified Acupuncturist in traditional Chinese medicine from the University Of Florida Veterinary School, Chi Institute. Her free time is spread among her husband, 3 children and a menagerie of dogs, cats, chickens, and a turtle. Dr. Chen also enjoys baking, reading Japanese Anime, drawing, and supporting her children at their traveling sports tournaments.
